The 2014 Tour de France includes just one individual time trial, and the riders had to wait until the second-to-last stage for it. Tony Martin came away with the victory in Stage 20, edging Tom Dumoulin by 1:39 to finish in 1:06:21. The story of the Tour continues to be Vincenzo Nibali, who retained his commanding hold on the yellow jersey with a fourth-place finish in Stage 20.
Nibali has nearly an eight-minute lead heading into the final stage, which figures to be little more for him than a victory parade on the way to claiming his first Tour de France general classification title. Nibali finished less than two minutes behind Martin's winning pace on Saturday, allowing him to increase his lead heading into the final stage on Sunday. Barring an extremely unexpected result in the final stage, Nibali should coast to victory.
Although there wasn't any movement at the top of the general classification standings, there was a notable change. Jean-Christophe Peraud of France moved into second place, while countryman Thibaut Pinot is third heading into the final stage. Both have a good chance to finish on the podium.
