Game 2 of the College Basketball Invitational between ULM and Loyola-Chicago shifts to the South.

After trailing by a bucket at halftime in Game 1 of the three game series, Loyola-Chicago stormed back and took Game 1 of the College Basketball Invitational championship series, 65-58 on Monday night.

Loyola-Chicago reached the championship game after beating Seattle in the semifinals behind the stellar play of their backcourt. The same continued in Game 1 with a 16-point outing from Earl Peterson combining with three other players to lead a balanced scoring attack for the Ramblers.

With the next two games to be played at Louisiana-Monroe, the tide could potentially shift for the remainder of the championships. Even in their loss, the Warhawks had strong play from Jamaal Samuel and Tylor Ongwae, who combined for 27 points and 15 rebounds to keep ULM in the contest.

The Ramblers haven't played this long, 23 wins (most since 1985), in their entire history, even when they won the NCAA Championship in 1963.
