Scores are going low at TPC River Highlands with the field competing for a first-place prize of more than $1 million.

The final round of the Travelers Championship is in full swing at TPC River Highlands and scores are once again dipping into the red. With the way things are trending, the winning score could fall into the upper teens. While the winner will come away with the Travelers Championship trophy, he will also be rewarded handsomely with an increased purse of $6.2 million. The winner will walk away with $1.116 million.

The purse increased slightly this year, up $100,000 from last year. That bumps the winners' share slightly as Ken Duke took home $1.098 million with his Travelers Championship win last year. Whoever wins will have held off a very crowded leaderboard with a dozen players currently 10-under or better. With so many players going low, more than a few will play very well all week, but still not come away with the win.

Fortunately for them, they will still come away with a sizable payout. Although the final payout will be altered by ties, the top 16 finishers are slated to take home at least $100,000. The top five finishers, without ties, would each claim at least $248,000. Ties will certainly be a factor, especially with such a tight leaderboard, so a single stroke gained or dropped could make or cost a player substantially.

Here is a look at the slotted payout for the top 20 finishers:
