The Rams are sticking with Austin Davis coming out of their bye week. We break down the fantasy implications.
St. Louis Rams quarterback Austin Davis will remain the starter for the foreseeable future, head coach Jeff Fisher confirmed on Wednesday.
Davis took over for Shaun Hill in Week 1 after Hill went down with a thigh injury. He went on to start the next two games and will keep going even though Hill is now healthy. Despite having no NFL experience prior to 2014, Davis put up respectable stats during the Rams' 1-2 start. He's completing 72.3 percent of his passes for 754 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions, throwing for 8 yards per attempt.
Fantasy impact: Davis picked apart the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3, throwing for 327 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in a losing effort. He probably won't put up those kind of numbers again, but if the matchup is right Davis will be on the QB2 radar.
Davis has another good matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles this week, but after that things get tough with the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs next on the schedule. Davis is a prime sell-high candidate if he has success in Week 5.
