And that's how you swing an entire series with one, well, swing.
The Detroit Tigers appeared to be on their way to tying the ALDS against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday afternoon. The Tigers were leading 6-3 entering the bottom of the eighth inning, and needed just six more outs to send the series home tied 1-1.
Then the Orioles strung together a few hits, and suddenly it was 6-4 with the bases loaded. Baltimore brought pinch-hitter Delmon Young to the plate in a crucial situation, and the former Tiger delivered in a big way:
That's a three-run double, and a 7-6 lead for Baltimore.
The game-changing play also included a fantastic slide from shortstop J.J. Hardy, and a somersaulting Nelson Cruz in the background:
The Orioles now lead the series, 2-0.
