Recapping the action from the third round of the bout between Chris Algieri and Manny Pacquiao.
Chris Algieri lost a point in the second round after being knocked down by Manny Pacquiao -- even if it should have been ruled a slip. Knowing he needed to start winning some rounds on the scorecards, Algieri came out pumping the jab a bit more and circling to try to set up the left hook.
Pacquiao did charge in and hit him to the body once but Algieri spun out and looked to keep throwing the left hand, both jabs and hooks. Algieri landed a good right hand with a little bit more than a minute left in the round.
This was a far better round for Algieri than the first two, even as Pacquiao came on with a little offense later in the round, closing it with a good right hand.
Still, even with the improvement for Algieri, it was still likely a Pacquiao round.
SB Nation scored the round 10-9 Pacquiao, making the fight 30-26 Pacquiao.
