The Seahawks figure to get into a defensive battle with the San Francisco 49ers. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Seattle Seahawks got themselves a big win against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12. They were successful on defense, but quarterback Russell Wilson put the team on his back on the offensive side. Their offense hasn't totally hit its stride in the past two weeks with just 21.5 points per game in their last two. Although, those were two bad matchups with a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11 and they did perform well before that cold spell.

They'll get another important and tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers this week. The 49ers rank second in defense and second against the pass, so this game will likely be in the teens again. In fact, this game has the lowest over/under of the week at 39.5.

Russell Wilson - His fantasy owners have very little to complain about these days. Wilson's ability to add fantasy points with his legs has given him a nice floor entering each week. While the Seahawks have struggled as a whole in the last two weeks, he's put up 21.3 points per game in that span.

He gets a very bad matchup on the road this week against the 49ers, who rank as the second-toughest defense against fantasy quarterbacks. Wilson also did not have success against them last year and they have really kept Wilson in check on the ground.

There is not a lot of upside here on a short week, so Wilson is more of a QB13-16 this week.

Marshawn Lynch - He's dealing with a back issue and has been limited in practice, but there is no way that should factor into your decision to play him this week. Yes, the 49ers are the fifth-toughest matchup for running backs, but Marshawn has actually stomped them in all three games last season, averaging 93.0 yards and 1.3 TDs. He did get shut down against the Cardinals, but they are one of the best run defenses in the league. Lynch is a top-five play for standard leagues and is more of a top-10 in PPR leagues.

Robert Turbin - If a game is expected to be a defensive battle, chances are two running backs aren't going to go off. Lynch is healthy enough for the Hawks not to use Turbin. He has very little fantasy value.

Doug Baldwin - He was absolutely shut down last week as the Cardinals pass defense has really tightened up in the past two weeks. Baldwin could only reel in two catches for six yards, leaving his fantasy owners in standard leagues with a goose egg.

He's also been under nine fantasy points in three of his last four, so it looks like his big Week 7 of 123 yards and one score seems like a fluke. It's too hard to play him this week in season-long leagues and he's not really a bargain in FanDuel.

Jermaine Kearse - While the Seahawks are absolutely going to stretch the field against the 49ers, Kearse hasn't done enough to be used in most formats this week. He's only caught one TD on the season and hasn't really stepped up like many thought he would after the Percy Harvin trade.

Luke Wilson and Cooper Helfet - Helfet caught a touchdown last week, but that came against a Cardinals defense that is notorious for its ineptitude in covering tight ends. Fantasy owners should be looking elsewhere for production in a low-scoring game.
