Alex Smith managed to post a decent game for fantasy owners who took a chance on him in Week 12. We break down the fantasy implications.

Alex Smith completed 20-of-36 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns in Week 12 against the Oakland Raiders. He threw both of his touchdowns in the second half, but he failed to come up with a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter, leading to the Raiders winning their first game of the season.

Smith's matchup looked promising entering Thursday night. It still wasn't a stellar game for the Chiefs starting quarterback, but he didn't turn the ball over and finished with his fourth multi-touchdown performance of the season.

Fantasy impact: There probably aren't many leagues where owners are willing to start Smith, but he can serve as a decent streaming option at times. He finished with over 17 points in Week 12, which is a decent output for those who put him in against the Raiders.

The Chiefs have several good passing matchups ahead; they don't face a top 10 defense for the rest of the fantasy season. Smith isn't a recommended start, but if you're in a two-quarterback or deeper league, he might be worth a shot.
