After rushing for just 2 yards last week, Andre Williams found the end zone again on Sunday night. We break down the fantasy implications.
Rashad Jennings is back in the starting lineup for the New York Giants, but his backup isn't out of the picture. Andre Williams rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries in Week 12 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Williams finished last week with 6 total yards, but he proved on Sunday night that he'll still be in the mix for carries going forward. Williams has now scored a touchdown in three of his last four games.
Fantasy impact: After seeing him take a backseat in Week 11, owners abandoned ship on Williams. But keep in mind the Giants were facing a tough San Francisco 49ers defense and Eli Manning threw five interceptions. Back in an tight matchup with the Cowboys, Williams was utilized for short-yardage work. He also vultured a 3-yard touchdown from Jennings in the second quarter.
Clearly Jennings is a more versatile back who will handle the majority of the workload, but Williams can be used as a flex play in deep leagues. If you're desperate at running back, he's worth a shot. Touchdown-only leagues should also keep him in the mix.
