Giovani Bernard is out for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a hip injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard has been declared out for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Bernard is dealing with a hip injury he sustained against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. The severity of the injury hasn't been explained by the team, but it's not expected to be serious. In other words, Bernard is only expected to miss this game, despite a short week heading into a Week 10 matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

Bernard missing this game is probably a positive overall, given that he's been dealing with injuries that have limited him in recent weeks. After carrying the ball 18 times for 137 yards and a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers, Bernard put up yardage totals of 17 and 45 against the Indianapolis Colts and the aforementioned Ravens. With a short week coming up, some time off (and against a team like the Jaguars) is definitely a positive.

Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners will have to look elsewhere. Hopefully, those fantasy owners have already picked up Jeremy Hill, who will get the bulk of the carries while Bernard is out. Hill has 50 carries for 195 yards and three touchdowns on the season, second on the team.
