The Calgary Flames added another heavyweight to their roster because, well, that's going to fix everything.
Brian Burke may not be the general manager of the Calgary Flames -- that job now belongs to Brad Treliving -- but let's be honest, acquiring Brandon Bollig from the Chicago Blackhawks for a third-round draft pick, as they did on Saturday, is the exact type of move a team with Burke in its front office would make.
Whether or not he had any direct input on it, it has his fingerprints all over it.
Bollig's game isn't about scoring goals or creativity. It's all about size, and physicallity and the occasional fight. He brings some of the truculence that Burke teams have become known for over the years and he joins a roster that already has Brian McGrattan on it.
In 125 career games with the Blackhawks Bollig recorded seven goals and seven assists, all of them coming last season.
He is signed for three years with a salary cap hit of $1.25 million per season.
