The 18-year-old speedster scored 32 goals last season.
The New York Islanders have selected forward prospect Josh Ho-Sang with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
Ho-Sang, 18, has spent the last two seasons playing for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League. Selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2012 OHL priority draft, the right-handed shooting forward spent time at both center and right wing. Ho-Sang has registered 129 points in 130 career regular season games in the OHL, and accumulated career-high totals in all three primary offensive categories last season by scoring 32 goals, 53 assists and 85 points (nearly doubling his point total from the previous season).
Listed at 5'11, 175 pounds, Ho-Sang is described as a speedy forward with excellent skills by the ISS. Finishing the year ranked as the No. 18 skating prospect in the 2014 draft class by the ISS, Ho-Sang is praised as an offensive dynamo:
While Ho-Sang is undeniably a terrific offensive talent, his game requires a certain level of growth. A tremendous natural goal scorer with speed who is a threat to put the puck in net whenever he is on the ice. A magician with the puck that has a wide array of moves to keep opposing defenseman honest with him. Lacks ideal size and strength from a front- line NHL forward and he can be neutralized if he is knocked off the puck too often. He needs to get stronger and get better puck protection skills to be an effecti ve player at the next level. Ho-Sang is a finesse player who can dazzle you with his skating and talent but at times leaves you wanting more.
Ho-Sang has represented Canada internationally, registering a point-per game total during the 2012-13 U17 World Hockey Championship (three goals and two assists in five games).
