Jerick McKinnon was limited on a short week but will be ready for Thursday night. We break down the fantasy implications.
Minnesota Vikings running back Jerick McKinnon is officially listed as probable for Thursday night's Week 5 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
McKinnon got limited practice on a short week. He was listed with an ankle injury, but was never in danger of missing the game. A rookie out of Georgia Southern, McKinnon exploded in his first extended playing time last Sunday. Against the Atlanta Falcons, McKinnon racked up 152 total yards on 19 touches.
Fantasy impact: With the Falcons' defense in such dismal shape, McKinnon likely had his best game of the season already. Still, he should continue to get more touches even with Matt Asiata getting the goal line carries. McKinnon should be owned in all fantasy leagues with his role expanding. It's another favorable matchup, with the Packers defense allowing 176 rushing yards per game, worst in the league. McKinnon is a worthy flex play even if Teddy Bridgewater is forced to sit this week out.
