South Carolina's A.J. Cann is at the top spot of another average group of interior blockers, followed by Jarvis Harrison of Texas A&M.

Are we on a downturn for guards in the draft? Sure, Zack Martin has been great for the Cowboys at guard, but he was a left tackle at Notre Dame. The first college guard wasn’t taken in the draft until the 33rd pick when the Texans picked Xavier Su’a-Filo, and he’s done little his rookie season.

The guard class for the 2015 NFL Draft may not be as bad as it was this year, but it’s not a stellar group either. Leading the way is A.J. Can of South Carolina. He’s markedly improved from a season ago and may challenge to be picked in the first round.

Jarvis Harrison of Texas A&M is a intriguing, athletic player. When A&M reshuffled its line, Harrison was moved from guard to left tackle. He’s better suited for the inside.

Florida State’s duo of Josue Matias and Tre Jackson are confounding. They’re obviously talented but haven’t played up to expectations this season.

For now, the guard list doesn’t include college offensive tackles who could be moved inside. That list, of course, starts with Iowa’s Brandon Scherff. It also includes Louisville’s Jamon Brown, Southern California’s Aundrey Walker and Central Florida’s Torrian Wilson.

Note: I have not watched Senior Bowl attendee Robert Myers of Tennessee State yet.
