Martin is doubtful for Sunday's game with an ankle injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Martin is dealing with an ankle injury and is unlikely to play in the game. Martin missed Tampa Bay's Week 9 game against the Cleveland Browns due to said injury, and missed two games earlier in the year as well. He hasn't been healthy much this season.
Martin has 58 carries for 166 yards and a touchdown on the season, a per-carry average of just 2.9 yards. He's struggled big time when playing, and even had a game in which he put up just 9 yards on nine carries. The doubtful designation is supposed to denote a 25-percent chance of playing, but even that seems generous. Don't expect Martin to suit up against the Falcons.
Fantasy Impact: Even if he were to play, Martin certainly wouldn't be carrying the load against the Falcons. But he's not going to play, making Bobby Rainey a strong fantasy option once again. Rainey will be the starter and he'll likely give a few carries to Charles Sims. Rainey has 81 carreis for 374 yards and a touchdown on the season.
