The 49ers tight end has had a tough go of it this season. Can he pick it up in Week 10?

San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis has been a monumental disappointment thus far. After a two-touchdown outing to start the season, Davis hasn't had more than three pass, 39 yards or any touchdowns since. The arrival of Anquan Boldin has been a factor but the 49ers seem perfectly content with the way things are. While Davis remains one of the most athletically gifted tight ends in the league, it hasn't translated into elite production. Calling Davis a boom-or-bust play wouldn't be that accurate since it's really been one boom followed by five consecutive busts.

Fantasy Impact: To make matters worse, the 49ers will take on the New Orleans Saints and their defense that allows the second fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends. There is simply no upside in starting Davis this week. He's always a threat for a score which would make him a desperation start in touchdown-heavy leagues, but owners can likely do better on the waiver wire.
