The Ravens got two touchdowns from their rookie power back in Week 8. Does he have another performance like that in him this week? We break down the fantasy implications.
After putting up two touchdowns versus the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8, Baltimore Ravens running back Lorenzo Taliaferro had fantasy owners scrounging the waiver wire this week.
He's clearly taken over goal-line and short-yardage situations over Bernard Pierce, who was a healthy scratch last week. Though Justin Forsett still maintains lead duties, it's fair to wonder how much of the backfield duties he will maintain against the Pittsburgh Steelers after being limited in practice this week.
Fantasy Spin: Taliaferro certainly has a place on the Ravens offense, but his near 20-point performance from Week 8 is more of an anomaly than something to be expected going forward if the distribution of snaps stays where it is. Forsett played 45 of 65 snaps against the Bengals, while Taliaferro had just 17.
It will take a positive game script and a little bit of luck for the bruising rookie to continue to put up points going forward. The volume of touches just isn't there for him at the moment, and fantasy owners would be wise to look elsewhere for flex options this week.
