Moss is having quite a game.
Brandon Moss hit a three-run homer with no outs in the top of the sixth inning to give the Athletics a 5-3 lead over the Royals in the AL Wild Card play-in game on Tuesday.
Moss, who opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-run shot, sent a 98 mph fastball from Yordano Ventura over the center field wall on a 2-0 count.
The blast plated Josh Donaldson and Sam Fuld, who reached base against James Shields to begin the inning. Shields was charged with four runs on five hits in five innings of work. He threw just 88 pitches.
Ventura, a 23-year-old right-hander, entered the game with one career relief appearance under his belt.
