The San Diego Chargers had a surplus of fantasy success in Week 4. Brown fell short. We take a look at the implications.

The San Diego Chargers exploded with 407 yards of offense on Sunday, but Donald Brown didn't contribute much to it. Brown ended with 19 yards on 10 carries. He added four receptions for 35 yards. The Chargers had control of the game in the second half, so Branden Oliver saw nine carries in relief. Oliver didn't do much either, posting a pedestrian 2.6 yards per carry with his opportunity. The bottom line: The Chargers may be counting the days for the return of Ryan Mathews.

Fantasy impact: Brown may be trending toward being a volume-based running back at this point. His value may remain in his touches, which makes him a flex option at best moving forward. He'll face a tough New York Jets run defense in Week 5. Owners may want to stash Brown for a week if they have better options. He'll have a much better matchup against the Oakland Raiders the following week.
