The Baltimore Ravens will add a healthy Bernard Pierce to their backfield on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce returned to practice and is listed as probable for Sunday's game versus the Carolina Panthers.
Pierce sat out the team's Week 3 contest with a thigh injury but practiced at full capacity throughout the week. He will be all systems go to join the Ravens backfield with Justin Forsett and Lorenzo Taliaferro.
Fantasy Spin: Of course, the problem with Pierce returning is that the capacity he will be used in is anyone's guess. Taliaferro didn't squander his chances versus the Cleveland Browns, amassing 91 rushing yards and a touchdown. Forsett will resume his usual passing-down role, but the early-down and goal-line work could be had by the dreaded committee approach.
Due to how murky the backfield situation is in Baltimore, Pierce only warrants a start for fantasy owners who are absolutely backed against the wall from bye weeks and injuries. He's an uninspiring flex play at best in standard leagues.
