Nearly 11 months removed from an ACL tear, Reggie Wayne is set to make his return on Sunday night. We break down the fantasy implications.
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne is fully recovered from ACL surgery and is a full participant in practice this week. Wayns is expected to be 100 percent for Sunday night's season opener against the Denver Broncos.
Wayne's 2013 season came to an end in October when he tore his ACL. In seven games, he recorded 38 catches for 503 yards and two touchdowns. Wayne made a quick recovery from surgery and avoided the PUP list, participating in nearly the entire training camp and preseason.
Fantasy impact: Outside of the occasional day off, Wayne should be all systems go on game days. It's a remarkable recovery for the 35-year-old, and suggests that Wayne could age more gracefully than many of his peers. He should resume a starting role opposite T.Y. Hilton. Wayne's fantasy stud days are probably behind him, but at this stage he's a reliable WR3 and teady hand for Andrew Luck, who is on the cusp of a breakout in his third season.
