The Packers quarterback and Discount Double Check guy may have finally met his match in the latest ad from State Farm.
Hans and Franz return to the airwaves on Thursday night, during the NFL season opener between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers. SNL alums Kevin Nealon and Dana Carvey reprised their roles as the Eastern Bloc weightlifters for a new State Farm® commercial featuring the "Discount Double Check Guy," Aaron Rodgers.
Hans and Franz are helping Rodgers get "pumped up" with a new workout routine, complete with tank pulling, kayaking and other assorted devices. It is the second spot in a new campaign from State Farm that features iconic SNL characters leading up the show's 40th Anniversary season.
"State Farm is excited to bring back these iconic SNL characters as the show celebrates its 40th anniversary," said Patty Morris, State Farm Marketing Director.
Rodgers joined the legendary Chicago Bears "Super Fans" in a State Farm ad last year. These new Discount Double Check commercials will appeal to fans who fondly remember these characters from SNL seasons past, while introducing them to a new, younger audience as well.
The current campaign includes four spots. In addition to Hans and Franz, Rob Scheinder's annoying office everyman, The Richmeister, will also appear in the spots, keeping audiences informed about who is making copies and other things.
