Tom Brady is listed on the injury report with a calf injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sat out of practice on Thursday with a calf injury. He went through practice on Wednesday and there is no reason to think he'll have any issues in Sunday's opener against the Miami Dolphins.
The Patriots will put Brady's name on the injury report for any issue they can think of, so the calf is the body part of choice for 2014. Obviously, he's ready to go and will look to bounce back from an underwhelming 2013.
Fantasy impact: Unless you play in a fantasy league that rewards for bonuses of being on the injury report for made-up injuries, this is a non-issue. The Patriots have done this type of thing for about a decade and it's become a trend which makes it somewhat easy to distinguish his real injuries from fake ones. Fantasy owners can plug him into their lineups as a low-end QB1 and expect him to start his season strong against a suspect Dolphins secondary.
