Fitzgerald was on the injury report with a minor knee issue, but is getting in a full practice and should be ready for Week 1. We break down the fantasy implications.
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was a full participant in practice on Thursday, indicating that he will be 100 percent for Monday's season opener against the San Diego Chargers. Fitzgerald was held out of Tuesday's walkthrough with a knee issue, but it's not believed to be anything serious.
Now 31 years old, Fitzgerald could be looking forward to more practice days off as the Cardinals try to keep their star receiver fresh for the meat grinder schedule in the NFC West. After a down year with dismal quarterback play in 2012, Fitzgerald bounced back nicely with Carson Palmer under center, hauling in 82 catches for 954 yards and 10 touchdowns last year.
Fantasy impact: With Michael Floyd set to take the mantle as Arizona's new No. 1 receiver, Fitzgerald is expected to settle into the slot role. That shouldn't diminish his role in the offense, though, and he should still see plenty of targets in Bruce Arians' pass-happy offense. Fitzgerald is a safe WR2 play against San Diego's soft secondary on Monday night.
