Tom Brady practiced on Friday and will play on Sunday vs. the Dolphins. We break down the fantasy implications.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (calf) practiced on Friday and will play against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. He missed practiced on Thursday due to a sudden calf issue, but the problem was never considered serious.
The Patriots will find any reason they can to put Brady on the injury report and chances are they will announce him as probable for multiple weeks of the season. There is nothing to worry about from an injury standpoint.
Brady had one of his worst seasons ever in 2013. However, he didn't have reputable players to throw to most of the season and most of his receivers were highly inexperienced. Receiver Aaron Dobson has a year under his belt and should be better while a healthy Rob Gronkowski will go a very long way. The Patriots averaged about a touchdown more per game with Gronk in the lineup last season.
Fantasy impact: There isn't really any fantasy impact from this news. Brady will be fine and should have no problem getting his season going against a vulnerable Miami secondary. He's a low-end QB1 this week.
