Detroit Lions superstar Calvin Johnson was limited in practice this week with an ankle injury. We break down the fantasy implications.
Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson returned to practice on Friday on a limited basis.
Johnson was kept out of practice on Thursday and Friday with an ankle injury, and is listed with a true "questionable" designation for Sunday's contest against the New York Jets.
Fantasy Spin: It's a status that has to be taken seriously despite Johnson's lengthy history of playing while banged-up, because fantasy owners learned in Week 5 of 2013 that Johnson is no longer immune from having to sit despite not practicing. Though his chances of playing are trending up because he returned to practice, owners will have to monitor Johnson's status closely leading up to game time.
Fortunately, the Lions have an early game at 1 p.m. ET, so owners would have their full array of replacement options available. Should he play, even at a limited capacity, Johnson remains a must-start in leagues across the board.
