San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews is out for Week 4. We break down the fantasy implications.

San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews (knee) is has been ruled out for the team's Week 4 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Donald Brown will start for while Mathews recovers from his sprained MCL. Mathews is expected to be out at least another month.

Fantasy Impact: While Brown's six year career has had its ups and downs, he's worth starting consideration in all league formats this week. The Chargers have been running the ball terribly (league-worst 2.4 YPC), but they are tied for fifth in the league in rushing attempts. The former first-round pick will get his chances against the Jaguars defense that gives up the most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Brown is also a capable receiver and has the ability to contribute in the passing game. Running back Branden Oliver is next up on the depth chart and is no threat to siphon a significant amount of carries. Brown is a high-end RB2 against the Jaguars.
